This has been an incredibly worrying time for our clients, their loved ones and our carers alike. We’re fully committed to continuing to support all our clients and our carers through this, and to keeping everyone safe.

Keeping Up To Date

We’ve always kept fully abreast of developments relating to the spread of COVID-19 by taking advice from our Local Authorities, as well as Public Health England and the Care Quality Commission. We always follow the government’s official guidance for care providers, and routinely monitoring developments – reviewing our procedures and responding as the situation evolves.

Keeping You Safe

The safest place for anyone right now is at home. Our number one priority is protecting both our clients and our carers, as well as maintaining our service that is so genuinely vital to many. We recognise that having any visitors in your home right now can be a worry, but we’ve taken steps to ensure you remain safe:

 

Staff vaccinations

At Sirius it is now a condition of employment to have a COVID vacination. 

 

All our carers undergo extensive training on COVID-19, including:

  • COVID-19 prevention and control
  • General infection prevention and control (including handwashing)
  • Safe use and removal of PPE

This includes hand sanitizer, disposable gloves, disposable aprons, and surgical masks.

 

Staying Connected

We’re family when family can’t be there – our care is never just about completing tasks. Social interaction is critical for mental health and wellbeing, and a visit from our carers can help put a smile on your face and combat loneliness during this difficult time.

  • We can help you make videocalls to your family and friends. 
  • If you need to visit the doctor or hospital during this time, we can provide safe transportation to and from your appointment.
  • We can provide additional support with shopping, prescriptions and other essential items, enabling you to stay safe at home.
  • We can spot any changes in your health and adapt our care accordingly, as well as notifying your GP and loved ones.
